Forget everything you think you know about Aligoté! This isn’t just a ‘simple’ thirst-quencher; it’s a serious, gastronomic Burgundy that proves exactly what this grape can achieve on the right terroir. 🤩👌
🌳 An Ode to Acacia
The family at Domaine du Beauregard has a true masterpiece on their hands with the ‘Les Platrières’ cuvée. What makes this wine truly unique is its aging in acacia wood barrels. While oak often brings power and toast, acacia delivers an unprecedented finesse: think refined floral notes, a silky-creamy texture, and a seductive hint of vanilla. 🌸🍦✨
Even though the 2025 vintage is still very young, it’s bursting with energy! ⚡ On the nose, we immediately pick up that signature citrus freshness, complemented by ripe quince and a lovely combo of matured crushed apples and honey. 🍋🍏🍯 The mouthfeel is harmonious, compact, and beautifully enveloping. The acacia influence provides a delicate, creamy body that contrasts perfectly with the vibrant acidity.
⛰️ Terroir & Origins
Sourced from 40-year-old vines grown on sandstone soils (grès). This provides the wine with its mineral backbone and depth. Located in the stunning Côtes du Couchois, Domaine du Beauregard proves once again why they are one of the rising stars of the region. 🌟🇫🇷
💎 Why you need this wine in your cellar:
Instant Summer Hit: ☀️ Fantastic straight out of the fridge on a sunny terrace, but gains incredible complexity as it comes up to temperature. 🥂
Energy & Potential: A wine with massive 'drive'. We expect this energy to develop beautifully over the next 3 to 5 years. 📈
Gastro-Friendly: An ideal partner for grilled fish, rich sauces, or a fine platter of French cheeses. 🐟🧀
Our Tip: Are you a fan of white Burgundy with that little bit of extra character? Look no further. From now on, we’ll be keeping a sharp eye out for Aligoté on acacia! An absolute discovery. 🔍❤️
