A brilliantly pure Chardonnay from the CĂ´te de Beaune â rare, refined and irresistible.
White Maranges is rare â very rare. But when itâs done right, as with StĂŠphanie & JĂŠrĂ´me Depernon, you get a wine that unites the finesse of the CĂ´te de Beaune with the vibrant energy of the southern terroirs.
Aged in oak barrels, this Maranges Blanc enhances Chardonnayâs natural minerality, complexity and elegance beautifully.
This is a wine for those who still believe Meursault costs 30 euros, only to find out it now easily reaches 60 euros or more. Fortunately, this appellation still offers relief â both for your wallet and in your glass.
Maranges forms the southernmost tip of the CĂ´te de Beaune, and by extension, the entire CĂ´te dâOr. Although the vineyards are geographically located mostly within the SaĂ´ne-et-Loire departmentâat the same latitude as the CĂ´te Chalonnaiseâthe Maranges AOC truly belongs to the CĂ´te de Beaune. The reason lies in its terroir: its geological characteristics align perfectly with those of the rest of the district.
Nose: delicate citrus, white peach, subtle floral notes and a hint of flint.
Palate: a perfect balance of freshness and creaminess; the oak is refined and elegant, never heavy, lifting the wine without disturbing its purity.
Finish: long, bright, mineral and elegant. Avoid serving too cold to preserve the beautiful length.
A superb gastronomic companion:
Serving: around 10â12°C, not too cold.
