Experience the authentic power of the Jura with this classic Savagnin 2018 from Domaine Frédéric Lambert. Named Jura Winemaker of the Year in 2018 by the Guide Hachette, Frédéric Lambert showcases why Savagnin reigns supreme as the signature white grape of the region.
Aged under a natural film of yeast (sous voile) in oak barrels, this traditional Jura wine is crafted for true enthusiasts of character, tension, and oxidative complexity. In the glass, it displays a deep golden hue. The nose offers rich, complex notes of fresh walnut, hazelnut, dried fruit, and delicate baking spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, generous, and well-rounded, driven by signature saline minerality and crisp acidity that lead into an exceptionally long, clean finish.
Domaine Frédéric Lambert's vineyards are situated on favored slopes across the Côtes du Jura. The soils feature limestone combined with blue and grey marl (marnes bleues et grises). This soil profile is essential for Savagnin, imparting natural tension, crisp acidity, and hallmark saline minerality.
Frédéric and Marie-Anne Lambert established their estate in 1993 in Toulouse-le-Château. Starting from scratch, they expanded the domaine to roughly 10–12 hectares. Focusing on sustainable farming, low yields, and traditional cellar techniques, Frédéric crafts authentic terroir wines that represent a reliable benchmark for fine Jura winemaking.
