An organic white Burgundy Chardonnay from the vicinity of Meursault. For connoisseurs of Meursault wines, this should ring a bell. The vineyard "Sous la Velle" is indeed located in Meursault, right? Harvested from over 40-year-old vines on the limestone-rich Lieu-dit Sous la Velle in the lower part of Meursault, this is a Bourgogne Blanc with both volume and structure. Aged in large oak barrels of 225-350L for 18 months.
But be careful! In its youth, it has not yet reached its full potential. It's best to wait 1 or 2 more years before opening, and if you can't wait, be sure to decant and serve it not too cold!
Carrés Bourgogne Blanc unfolds beautifully on the nose with intense aromas of pear, white flowers, hazelnut, citrus, white peach, butter, and wet stones. A wonderfully full-bodied wine, buttery and slightly rich, with a brilliant finish. Comparable to Meursault! The taste follows suit beautifully, with layers of creamy fruit balanced by a juicy acidity profile, giving the wine a perfect balance. The wine has a certain body and density, with a juicy taste and a subtle hint of vanilla. A rich and fresh white Burgundy that truly delivers.
In terms of gastronomy, this wine pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes, such as foie gras, lobster, trout à la meunière, chicken in cream sauce with morels, monkfish skewers.
