Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Meursault - Domaine Buisson Battault. The prestigious family estate Buisson Battault is located in the heart of the iconic Meursault, renowned for its exceptional white wines. In addition to the famous white Meursault wines, François Buisson also produces a small quantity of red wines, which are certainly on par with their white counterparts. The Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2022, the youngest member of the range, reflects the unmistakable signature of the estate: elegance, purity, and refinement. The wine offers a delicate aroma of juicy red fruit, with subtle hints of raspberry and cherry, and a smooth, round structure. The tannins are soft and silky, ensuring a refined mouthfeel. For the best experience, enjoy this exquisite Bourgogne at cellar temperature. It pairs beautifully with game dishes, such as pheasant or partridge, as well as fine charcuterie and soft cheeses. A true treat for the senses!
Quick tasting notes: 2022, impressive deep NSG kinda warm nose, rich on spice. jammy Pinot. Strawberry cacao clove Cherry cola licorice new oak combo. Plays really nice between richness and freshness but could benefit further integration. Spicy peppers, mineral and concentrated wine. Just lacks a hint of complexity for now. Perhaps with age. Lingering finish with some rougher edges/tannins, again, time will heal all the tiny imperfections. All this combined makes a great setup for a grand(er) vin de Bourgogne. Bourgognewijn.shop
