Clos Bateau – New Wave Beaujolais

Since 2019, Sylvie & Thierry have been building their adventure in Lantignié, Beaujolais. With a small, nature-friendly domaine of 5.1 hectares of vineyards and nearly 9 hectares of land surrounding their home, they are creating a thriving ecosystem. Biodiversity is key: more than a hundred fruit and nut trees have already been planted, sheep and kunekune pigs help keep the vineyards healthy in winter, and herbal teas made from local plants strengthen the vines naturally.

In the cellar, the same respect applies: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, long ageing, no fining or filtration, and no added sulphur. The result: Vins Vivants – living wines that reflect the purity of their terroir.

Since 2023, Clos Bateau is officially organically certified (FR-BIO-15) and represents a fresh new wave in Beaujolais.
