The Best Crémant de Bourgogne of Its Kind
Available very soon! Pre-order this wine today to secure a few bottles – it will sell out in no time. Even today, Burgundy still holds surprises. Sometimes, an unknown and so far unremarkable estate suddenly appears with something truly spectacular. This wine is made from grapes from the Mâconnais region, near the beautiful village of Cluny.
The nose is exactly what you'd expect from a sparkling white Burgundy made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. It takes you straight to that warm summer holiday in Burgundy, where you step into a so-called Vigneron Indépendant (a winemaker without a marketing degree) in a dusty, cold wine cellar where countless liters of grape juice have been fermented. The chill you feel from the simplicity and history of generations of winemaking – that very scent is captured in this bottle of Crémant de Bourgogne.
This is just like Champagne! But not for €50 or €30 – only €17.95! An intensely floral bouquet of white and yellow fruit and spring blossoms. Notes of green-yellow apples and juicy quince that carry over to the palate. My mouth is watering as I type this. Pure juiciness. Despite its dry nature, the finish reveals a delicate hint of summer sweetness, making it irresistibly smooth to drink. That also makes it ideal to serve ice cold – something we Dutch tend to do anyway, though it often diminishes a wine’s sensation. But not in this case! Perfect for any festive occasion: a wine with flair and character. Because let’s be honest – it’s still a sparkling Burgundy. With this fantastic Crémant de Bourgogne, you'll impress both connoisseurs and casual wine drinkers alike.
Domaine du Grison is a small family business in the heart of Burgundy, located in the picturesque village of Blanot, near Cluny. For three generations, the Blondeau family has cultivated around 10 hectares of vineyards spread across the communes of Blanot and Péronne.
The charming village of Blanot lies nestled in a valley of the Monts du Mâconnais, at the foot of Mont Saint-Romain, in the northeast of the Cluny canton. In this picturesque setting, you’ll find rich historical heritage: a Cluniac priory from the 13th century, characteristic washhouses, a traditional bread oven, houses with galleries, lava stone roofs, dry stone walls, and Merovingian tombs from the 6th and 7th centuries. A special attraction is the Blanot caves, discovered in 1739. These impressive underground chambers reach more than 80 meters deep and form a fairytale landscape of stalactites and stalagmites. You can also climb Mont Saint-Romain, which at 580 meters offers a panoramic view. From the orientation table, you can see the Alps, the Jura, and toward the west the Charolais hills and the Morvan. On this historic site, once home to a Gallo-Roman settlement, the monks of Cluny built a priory in the 11th century. Unfortunately, it was destroyed at the end of the 18th century.
