Clos Bateau is the bold adventure of Thierry & Sylvie Klok de Visser, who swapped the vibrant streets of Amsterdam for the calm beauty of Lantignié in 2019. Their 5.5-hectare vineyard is a living canvas: old Gamay vines, a shaded Chardonnay parcel and a unique plot of Pinot Noir matured in buried Qvevri amphorae — yielding just about 760 bottles per year.

Besides wine, they craft their own ceramics from their vineyard’s clay and host a cheerful family of pigs, goats and chickens roaming freely among the trees. Clos Bateau is known for its wild, spicy wines full of character — truly a fresh breeze in Beaujolais!
