Domaine Cachat-Ocquidant et Fils: Where tradition meets craftsmanship
In the picturesque village of Ladoix, at the foot of the iconic Mont Corton, lies Domaine Cachat-Ocquidant. Under the leadership of Jean Marc Cachat, this winery has built up a strong reputation. Although the estate is best known for its refined red wines, they also produce special white wines in smaller quantities. These white wines are often considered hidden gems by connoisseurs.
Jean Marc Cachat brings a wealth of experience; he managed vineyards of the renowned Coche-Dury in Corton for many years and actively contributed to the development of their wines. His work reflects a harmonious balance between the mineral character of the region, modern vinification techniques and a refined use of wood.
However, the greatest strength of the estate lies in the spicy, elegant red wines from Ladoix, Aloxe, Savigny and Chorey. The showpiece is without a doubt the monopoly parcel Corton Clos des Vergennes, which consistently excels as one of the top wines from the Grand Cru area. Wines from this parcel, under the expert hand of Jean Marc, are distinguished by their complex character, mineral intensity and deep layering.
